Situated just 10 minutes drive from the Launceston city centre and airport, the Josef Chromy estate is an essential place to add to your Northern Tasmanian itinerary. We look forward to welcoming you to our cellar door, housed within an original 1880s homestead. Enjoy picturesque views overlooking our century-old garden and lakeside vineyard as you relax and taste a variety of wines grown and made right here on our estate. A tasting at Josef Chromy is an idyllic experience of fine wine, heritage and architecture, with two curated tastings to choose from. 

Each tasting includes a flight of four wines, complemented by our friendly and knowledgeable service.

Bookings are recommended (particularly on weekends). Walk-ins are also welcome.  Priced from $15pp

Master the art of crafting sparkling wine! Starting at our cellar door, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the estate. Take in the history of the vineyards, the century-old garden, and the 1880s homestead, as well as our winemaking heritage.

Back at the cellar door, you’ll be taken through our sparkling wine process. Then you’ll craft a bottle of your own sparkling, through liqueur d’expedition dosage trials, to achieve your exact taste.

Take home a bottle of your very own blend with the option to order sparkling wine at your own dosage rate to be delivered later. You’ll also have the opportunity to taste other Josef Chromy wines, before finishing off in the restaurant over a beautiful two-course lunch with matched wines!

Josef Chromy is located within a 5.5km radius of Launceston Airport and is within a regulated ‘CANNOT FLY’ zone for recreational drone users. Accredited operators must obtain written permission from us via [email protected] before launching a drone on our property.
